The film stars Idris Elba as the no-nonsense British Prime Minister Sam Clarke and John Cena as the charismatic (and slightly clueless) U.S. President Will Derringer. Cena’s character is a former action movie star turned politician—much to Elba’s disapproval. The two leaders can’t stand each other, but when danger strikes, they’re forced to put aside their differences and team up for a high-stakes mission.

 

The plot itself is nothing groundbreaking—it follows the classic odd-couple action-comedy formula—but the clash of personalities carries the film. Elba plays the straight man with his usual gravitas, while Cena leans into his goofy charm, relying more on charm than any real grasp of politics. Together, they battle Russian terrorists while trading jabs, dodging bullets, and navigating the cultural quirks between the UK and the US.
