Karate Kid: Legends Hits UK Cinemas Now

The dojo is open! Karate Kid: Legends, the sixth film in the iconic Karate Kid franchise, is now playing in UK cinemas as of May 30, 2025. Starring Jackie Chan (Mr. Han) and Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso), this action-packed drama blends nostalgia with fresh energy.
Why Karate Kid: Legends Packs a Punch
Directed by Jonathan Entwistle (The End of the F*ing World), Karate Kid: Legends (1h34m, 12A) follows Li Fong (Ben Wang), a Beijing teen who relocates to New York City after a family tragedy. Facing a local karate champion in a high-stakes tournament, Li trains under Mr. Han (Chan) and Daniel LaRusso (Macchio), merging kung fu and karate. Critics praise the “crisp” fight scenes but note a “predictable” plot, earning a 55% Rotten Tomatoes score.
The cast, including Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Ming-Na Wen, adds depth. Set three years after Cobra Kai’s finale, it’s a “nostalgic bridge” for fans, with Macchio’s LaRusso tying the franchise together.

When a new friend needs his help, Li enters a karate competition – but his skills alone aren't enough. Li's kung fu teacher Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) enlists original Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) for help, and Li learns a new way to fight, merging their two styles into one for the ultimate martial arts showdown.
