Synopsis

In high school, Schmidt was an awkward, shunned nerd, while Jenko was a popular but dim-witted athlete. Years later, the former rivals cross paths at the police academy and form an unlikely partnership to balance out each other's weaknesses. After botching a simple drug bust due to their incompetence, the duo is reassigned to a revived, secret undercover unit based at 21 Jump Street. Tasked by their aggressive commander with infiltrating a local high school to locate the supplier of a dangerous new synthetic drug called HFS, the officers are forced to blend in with modern teenagers. To their surprise, high school social dynamics have completely inverted since their youth. As Schmidt suddenly fits in with the cool crowd and Jenko is relegated to the nerds, they must navigate explosive teenage drama, unexpected romance, and deadly drug dealers to crack the case.
