Synopsis

A Better Tomorrow is a landmark Hong Kong heroic bloodshed action film that follows Ho, a high-ranking member of a triad counterfeiting syndicate, and his loyal partner Mark. Ho attempts to abandon his life of crime for the sake of his younger brother, Kit, an idealistic rookie police officer who remains unaware of Ho's illicit ties. However, during Ho's final job in Taiwan, he is betrayed and sentenced to prison. Tragedy strikes home when his father is murdered during a failed kidnapping attempt. Years later, a reformed Ho is released from prison and tries to live an honest life as a taxi driver, but Kit harbors deep resentment towards him, blaming Ho for their father's death and stalled career. Meanwhile, Mark, crippled from seeking revenge for Ho's betrayal, is living in poverty under the thumb of Shing, the ruthless new triad boss. As Shing tries to force Ho back into the criminal underworld, Ho and Mark must band together to protect Kit and reclaim their honor in an explosive final showdown.
