A.I. - Artificial Intelligence
A.I. Artificial Intelligence
Synopsis
In a future where global warming has flooded coastal cities and advanced robots known as 'Mecha' serve humanity, Cybertronics creates David, the first robotic child programmed with the capacity for unconditional love. Adopted as a prototype by Henry and Monica Swinton, whose biological son is in suspended animation, David's existence is upended when the real child unexpectedly recovers and returns home. Abandoned by his heartbroken mother to save him from destruction, David embarks on a sweeping, perilous journey across a fractured world. Accompanied by Teddy, a robotic bear, and Gigolo Joe, a companion Mecha on the run, David seeks the mythical Blue Fairy from the story of Pinocchio, believing she can transform him into a 'real boy' and win back his mother's affection. Spanning two thousand years, this visionary odyssey explores the profound boundaries between artificial intelligence and human emotion, ultimately questioning what it truly means to be alive and to be loved.
