Synopsis
Set in Northern Australia during the onset of World War II, English aristocrat Lady Sarah Ashley travels to the rugged outback to confront her husband and save their cattle station, Faraway Downs. Upon her arrival, she discovers her husband has been murdered and her land is under threat from a ruthless cattle baron. Reluctantly, she joins forces with a rough-hewn cattle driver known as the Drover to drive two thousand head of cattle across hundreds of miles of the country's most unforgiving and beautiful terrain. Along the journey, they are joined by Nullah, a young Indigenous boy who captures Sarah's heart. As they battle the elements and the looming threat of the Japanese bombing of Darwin, they must navigate a landscape of deep-seated racial tensions and find their own place in a changing world. This sweeping historical epic blends romance, adventure, and drama to tell a story of personal transformation and the enduring spirit of a nation.
