Synopsis

In the small, tightly knit community of Mount Rose, Minnesota, the annual Sarah Rose Cosmetics American Teen Princess Pageant is the biggest event of the year, bringing out the absolute worst in its contestants. This dark, sharp-witted mockumentary tracks the fierce escalating rivalry between two polar opposite high school seniors. Amber Atkins is a sweet, hard-working teenager from a trailer park who dreams of escaping her bleak surroundings to follow in the footsteps of her idol, Diane Sawyer. Standing stubbornly in her way is Rebecca 'Becky' Leeman, the spoiled, ultra-privileged daughter of a wealthy local socialite and former pageant queen, Gladys Leeman, who happens to head the pageant committee. As the competition heats up, Amber's dreams are thrown into jeopardy when a series of bizarre, highly suspicious accidents start befalling any contestant who dares to pose a competitive threat to Becky.
