Synopsis
Set in the sun-drenched Var countryside near Marseille, sixteen-year-old Enzo is a listless teenager born into a life of bourgeois privilege. Defying his wealthy family's expectations of a prestigious career, he insists on pursuing a masonry apprenticeship, a gritty path far removed from their swanky villa lifestyle. His struggle for identity intensifies on the construction site, where he forms a burgeoning and transformative friendship with Vlad, a charismatic Ukrainian laborer. As tensions simmer within his claustrophobic family unit—who alternate between spoiling him and pressuring him to conform—Enzo navigates a tentative sexual awakening and the harsh realities of class divide. Directed by Robin Campillo as a poignant tribute to the late Laurent Cantet, this intimate rites-of-passage drama explores the friction between adolescent desire and the weight of destiny, capturing the quiet rebellion of a young man determined to build his own future from the ground up.
