Holy Days
Synopsis
Devastated by his mother's sudden death, ten-year-old Brian Collins finds solace and unexpected friendship in a local, run-down convent run by three eccentric, elderly nuns: Sister Agnes, Sister Mary Clare, and Sister Luke. When Brian overhears imminent plans by church officials to shut down the beloved convent, he recruits his new companions to help him embark on an ambitious quest to locate a former nun-turned-lawyer in the snowy Southern Alps who might hold the legal key to saving their home. Under the pretense of finding Brian's late mother on a mountain before his father's new girlfriend can take her place, the mismatched group sets off in a classic sedan on a wild, snowy road trip across New Zealand. Facing humorous mishaps, unpredictable weather, and deep personal reflections, the journey forces them all to confront their losses and discover the true meaning of family, faith, and community. Nat Boltt's heart-warming comedy-drama is a beautifully poignant, crowd-pleasing adventure about finding hope in the most unlikely places.
