James and the Giant Peach

Synopsis

Life is a dreary nightmare for young James Henry Trotter, who is forced to live with his two cruel, overbearing aunts, Spiker and Sponge, after the tragic loss of his parents. His fortunes change when a mysterious stranger gives him a bag of "crocodile tongues," which accidentally creates a peach the size of a house.

Venturing inside the succulent fruit, James discovers a band of human-sized, talking insects—including the sarcastic Centipede (Richard Dreyfuss), the elegant Miss Spider (Susan Sarandon), and the musical Grasshopper (Simon Callow). Together, they launch the peach into the Atlantic Ocean, embarking on a perilous and magical journey toward New York City. Along the way, James learns the true meaning of family and finds the courage to face his fears in a world filled with mechanical sharks and skeletal pirates.
