Synopsis

Based on the beloved stage musical, this epic film tells the story of Jean Valjean, a French peasant who is hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for Cosette, the daughter of a factory worker, he finds himself on a path of redemption and love in the midst of a violent revolution in 19th-century France.
