Leviticus
Synopsis
In a conservative and deeply religious Australian town, quiet teenager Naim harbors a secret crush on his classmate Ryan. After an act of romantic betrayal leads to Naim outing Ryan to the local church, the religious community subjects Ryan to a cultish form of conversion therapy led by a sinister Deliverance Healer. Rather than curing him, the ritual unleashes an invisible, violent supernatural entity that stalks Ryan when he is alone. Soon, Naim is subjected to the exact same traumatic ceremony and becomes plagued by the same terrifying presence. The horrifying catch is that this shape-shifting demon manifests itself to each victim as the embodiment of their deepest queer desire, taking the exact form of the person they want most: each other. Trapped in a psychological and physical nightmare where love is weaponized against them, the two boys must unite to fight the curse, navigating intense trauma and paranoia as they struggle to determine if the person before them is their true love or the monster trying to destroy them.
