Nimrods
Synopsis
Three high school friends and aspiring musicians decide to embark on a wild, rowdy cross-country road trip from Kansas City to Los Angeles after receiving a phone call inviting their fledgling garage band, Analog Dogs, to be the opening act for the legendary punk rock band Green Day on New Year's Eve. Completely desperate to believe that their lives are on the verge of a major breakthrough, the trio steals a car and hits the highway, determined to cross America in three days. However, they are entirely unaware that the life-changing offer is actually an elaborate prank orchestrated by an older brother. Inspired by Green Day's real-life adventures and chaotic early days touring out of a van prior to their 1994 breakout album Dookie, this coming-of-age comedy captures the rebellious, high-stakes energy of teenage friendship, rock-and-roll dreams, and the absolute mayhem of the open road.
