Ponyo

Synopsis

Five-year-old Sosuke lives a quiet life in a seaside town perched high on a cliff. One morning along the rocky shore, he rescues a tiny, unusual goldfish whose head is stuck in a glass jar and names her Ponyo. The two quickly bond, but Ponyo is no ordinary fish; she is the daughter of Fujimoto, a powerful sorcerer who once lived as a human but now controls the ocean's depths. Intrigued by human life and driven by her fond affection for Sosuke, Ponyo uses her father's magic to transform herself into a young human girl. However, disturbing the ancient balance of ocean magic releases a massive sea storm that inundates the village and pulls the moon out of orbit. To restore order to nature and remain human, Ponyo and Sosuke must embark on a magical journey powered by unconditional trust, love, and courage.
