Synopsis

In a bleak California town, high schooler John (Daniel Roebuck) brutally murders his girlfriend, Jamie, and leaves her body on the bank of a nearby river. Instead of fleeing, he brings his circle of friends to see the corpse—not as a confession, but as a show-and-tell.

To John's friends, the murder is less a tragedy and more an inconvenience. While the sensitive Matt (Keanu Reeves) and the young Layne (Crispin Glover) struggle with the weight of the secret, the group’s collective indifference begins to fracture. As they turn to a local hermit and drug dealer named Feck (Dennis Hopper) for advice, the teens find themselves drifting through a moral void where loyalty to a killer outweighs the value of a human life.
