Synopsis

In the small town of Gilbert, Texas, the Chicken Ranch has operated peacefully for decades as a beloved local institution, run by the charming madam Miss Mona Stangley. Protected by the town's fiercely loyal sheriff, Ed Earl Dodd, who also happens to be Miss Mona's longtime paramour, the brothel is an accepted part of the community. However, the quiet status quo is shattered when Melvin P. Thorpe, a flamboyant and self-righteous television consumer advocate from Houston, targets the establishment in an aggressive moral crusade. Armed with television cameras and political pressure, Thorpe vows to shut the Chicken Ranch down for good, forcing the governor to get involved. As public outrage grows and state politicians scramble to save face, Miss Mona and Sheriff Dodd must fight a hilarious, song-filled battle against corporate media and political hypocrisy to save their way of life and the place they call home.
