Synopsis
Armand Goldman is the flamboyant owner of a popular drag club in South Beach, while his longtime partner, Albert, is the club's star attraction. Their world is turned upside down when Armand's son, Val, announces his engagement to the daughter of Kevin Keeley, an ultra-conservative, moralistic U.S. Senator. To ensure the wedding happens, Val begs his parents to play it straight for a dinner meeting with the in-laws. What follows is a riotous comedy of errors as Armand attempts to redecorate their home and their lives to fit the Senator's rigid expectations. As the two radically different families collide, secrets are exposed and pretenses fall away in a hilarious exploration of family, identity, and acceptance. This American adaptation of the classic play La Cage aux Folles remains a beloved masterpiece of comedic timing and heart, proving that family is defined by love rather than social norms.
