Synopsis

At Herrington High School in an ordinary Ohio town, the student body is divided into traditional teenage cliques, from outcasts and geeks to popular jocks and leaders. However, a sense of terrifying uniformity begins to grip the school when the faculty members begin exhibiting increasingly cold, sinister, and bizarre behavior. When nerdy student Casey Connor and ruthless school newspaper editor Delilah Profitt stumble upon a strange, water-dependent parasite in the football field, they uncover a horrifying truth: an aggressive alien species is taking over the minds and bodies of the staff. As the rapidly reproducing space worms spread to the rest of the student population, a motley crew of six mismatched students must set aside their social differences to survive. Paranoiac and desperate, they discover that a crude homemade drug manufactured by their resident dealer is the only weapon capable of killing the organisms. Forced into a deadly game of hide-and-seek, the teenagers must identify and destroy the alien queen before the infestation spreads beyond the campus walls.
