Synopsis

Meredith Morton (Sarah Jessica Parker), a nervous, tightly wound New York executive, travels to the small-town, liberal New England home of her boyfriend Everett Stone to meet his eccentric, bohemian family for Christmas. When she struggles to win their approval, Meredith summons her sister for backup, unintentionally setting off a chain reaction of romantic mix-ups, hilarious misunderstandings, and emotional confrontations that force the entire family to re-evaluate their notions of love, acceptance, and the true meaning of the holidays.
