The Final Girls
Synopsis
Max Cartwright is a grieving high school student who is struggling to cope after the tragic loss of her mother, a famous 1980s scream queen. On the anniversary of her mother's death, Max and her friends attend a special tribute screening of her mother's most infamous B-horror movie, Camp Bloodbath. However, a mysterious fire breaks out in the theater, forcing the group to rip through the screen to escape. To their absolute bewilderment, they wake up to find themselves fully transported inside the world of the actual 1986 film. As they join the doomed, hormone-driven counselors, Max is emotionally reunited with the movie version of her mother. However, they soon realize they are trapped in a deadly loop with a machete-wielding, masked killer. To escape the movie, Max and her friends must weaponize their extensive knowledge of classic horror movie tropes to survive the onslaught and find a way out.
