The First Wives Club

Synopsis

In 1969, four college friends—Annie, Brenda, Elise, and Cynthia—vow to always be there for one another. Nearly thirty years later, after the tragic suicide of Cynthia following her husband's abandonment, the remaining three reunite at her funeral. They quickly realize they share a bitter commonality: all three have been callously "traded in" by their wealthy husbands for younger, "newer models."

Fed up with being the women who helped their husbands reach the top only to be discarded, the trio—neurotic Annie (Diane Keaton), brassy Brenda (Bette Midler), and aging Oscar-winner Elise (Goldie Hawn)—form the "First Wives Club." Their mission? Not just to get mad, but to get everything. Using a mix of blackmail, legal maneuvering, and a few high-rise heists, they set out to dismantle their exes' fortunes while rediscovering their own worth and the power of their lifelong bond.
