Synopsis

Twenty-four years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered for her sister, a young Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada) is reaped to compete in the 50th Annual Hunger Games. To mark the Quarter Quell, the Capitol has issued a brutal twist: each district must send twice the number of tributes, forcing Haymitch to face forty-seven other children in a fight for survival.

Torn from his family and his love, Lenore Dove Baird (Whitney Peak), Haymitch is thrust into a stunning but lethal arena alongside fellow District 12 tributes, including Maysilee Donner (Mckenna Grace). As he navigates the Capitol's deadly propaganda and the psychological warfare of President Snow (Ralph Fiennes), Haymitch must use his sharp wit and a budding revolutionary spirit to do the impossible: survive a game where the odds are more stacked against him than ever before.
