The Last Viking
Den sidste viking
Synopsis
Anker is released from prison after serving a fifteen-year sentence for a daring bank robbery, only to find his world turned upside down. The heist money was buried for safekeeping by his brother, Manfred, who is now the only person who knows its location. However, Manfred has since developed a severe mental disorder and dissociative identity, believing himself to be John Lennon and retaining no memory of the loot. Determined to reclaim his fortune, Anker takes his brother on a chaotic and surreal road trip across the Danish countryside. Along the way, they encounter a gallery of eccentric misfits and are forced to navigate Manfred's unpredictable personas. As the search for the buried treasure becomes increasingly bizarre, the brothers must confront their shared past and rediscover their true identities. Directed by Anders Thomas Jensen, this dark comedy blends deadpan humor with a touching exploration of family bonds and the fragile nature of the human mind.
