The Odyssey
Synopsis
Following the brutal sack of Troy, the legendary Greek warrior-king Odysseus begins a perilous journey back to his home island of Ithaca and his faithful wife, Penelope. However, what should be a routine voyage quickly devolves into a ten-year mythic epic across uncharted seas, as Odysseus incurs the wrath of angry gods. He and his loyal crew must navigate a gauntlet of fantastical terrors, including the ravenous one-eyed Cyclops Polyphemus, cannibalistic giants, the mesmerizing but deadly songs of the Sirens, and the terrifying sea monsters Scylla and Charybdis. Meanwhile, back in Ithaca, his son Telemachus fights to protect their kingdom from a predatory horde of suitors competing for Penelope's hand. Directed by Christopher Nolan, this grand action epic adapts Homer's foundational saga using groundbreaking IMAX technology to bring history's ultimate adventure to life with visceral scale.
