Synopsis

After twenty years away fighting in the Trojan War and enduring a perilous journey, Odysseus washes ashore on his native island of Ithaca, battered, exhausted, and unrecognizable. He discovers that his kingdom has fallen into disarray and his home has been overrun by arrogant suitors competing to wed his wife, Queen Penelope, and claim the throne. Penelope remains a virtual prisoner in her own palace, while their son Telemachus faces mortal danger from the suitors who view him as an obstacle. Traumatized and physically broken by the horrors of war, Odysseus is no longer the mighty warrior he once was. To reclaim his family, his home, and his kingdom, he must confront his past, forge a bond with the son he barely knows, and find the internal strength to defeat the ruthless forces that threaten to destroy everything he holds dear.
