Synopsis

On his birthday, retired actor and intellectual Alexander gathers with his family and close friends at his remote home in rural Sweden. The peaceful celebration is abruptly shattered when low-flying jet fighters and alarming television broadcasts announce the outbreak of a world-ending nuclear war. Overwhelmed by existential horror and despair for his loved ones, Alexander turns to prayer in a desperate moment of solitude. He offers a profound vow to God: if the world is restored and saved from imminent annihilation, he will relinquish everything he holds dear, including his home, family, and speech. Following a mystical encounter with a local maid believed to possess supernatural powers, Alexander wakes to find the world reset to normal, forcing him to honor his solemn and life-altering promise.
