Synopsis

This historical drama tells the powerful, untold story of Ann Lee, the radical 18th-century prophetess who founded the Shakers, an ascetic Christian sect dedicated to celibacy and communal living. Facing intense religious persecution, Ann and her small band of devoted followers journey from England to the nascent United States, convinced she is the second manifestation of Christ.
