Synopsis
In 1381, amidst the lingering aftermath of the Black Death that swept across Europe and devastated England's population, simmering discontent turns into open rebellion. When King Richard II and his ruthless oligarchs impose a brutal new poll tax on the struggling working class, an ordinary Essex ploughman loses everything to hardship and oppression. Driven by heartbreak and an uncompromising desire for justice, he joins forces with radical preacher John Ball and fiery ex-soldier Wat Tyler to form a formidable army of commoners. Together, thousands of peasants march on London to demand fair wages, lower rents, and basic human rights from the Crown. As the royal forces move to crush the rebellion, the mismatched freedom fighters face insurmountable odds in a bloody, high-stakes battle for the nation's future.
