Wild Horse Nine

Synopsis

Set against the volatile backdrop of the 1973 Chilean coup, Wild Horse Nine follows aging CIA officer Chris and his younger protégé Lee as they are dispatched from Santiago to the remote isolation of Easter Island. Under the orders of their bureau chief, MJ, the two agents are tasked with a mission that quickly spirals into a web of political conspiracy and personal reckoning. Amongst the island's iconic moai statues, the partners find their loyalty and sanity pushed to the brink as they encounter a group of rebellious students and face a hit put on them by their own government to cover up past messes. Written and directed by Martin McDonagh, this dark comedy thriller blends sharp-witted dialogue with a gritty exploration of trust and betrayal. As the sun sets on the old world order, Chris and Lee must decide whether to remain cogs in a corrupt machine or fight for their survival in a paradise turned purgatory.
