Wild Things
Synopsis
In the affluent coastal community of Blue Bay, Florida, high school guidance counselor Sam Lombardo finds his life completely upended when a wealthy student, Kelly Van Ryan, accuses him of rape. Soon after, a troubled outcast student named Suzie Toller comes forward with matching allegations, making Lombardo a social pariah facing a lengthy prison sentence. Desperate to save his reputation, Lombardo hires Kenneth Bowden, a low-rent defense attorney who uncovers a web of inconsistencies during a highly publicized court hearing. As cynical police detective Ray Duquette and his partner investigate the case, a sudden settlement completely flips the narrative, revealing that the accusations were merely pieces of an intricately planned financial scam. However, as the massive payout is distributed, the alliance between the co-conspirators deteriorates into betrayal, blackmail, and lethal violence. John McNaughton's sleek, neo-noir erotic thriller keeps audiences guessing with a constant series of double-crosses and unexpected plot twists where no one can be trusted.
